George Thomas Chisholm

July 12, 2017 — May 19, 2017

George “Tommy” Thomas Chisholm, 69, of Cleveland, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 19, 2017 in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones.
After serving his country as a Marine during the Vietnam Tommy returned home where he worked hard, eventually retiring from Bowaters. He loved to laugh working with his hands, Rock and Roll music and singing karaoke – he melted hearts with his version of ‘Sitting on the Dock of the Day”.
He is preceded in death by his parents’, Hugh “Chiz” Thomas Chisholm Joyce “Joy” June Chisholm, of Cleveland.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son Jeffrey Chisholm of North Carolina and three grandchildren. Also, his brother, Timothy Chisholm of Huntington Beach, California and his niece Brooke Henson and her three children of Cleveland, T.N.
Tommy’s approach to life in his latter years carried him through a two year battle against cancer where his never faltered, setting the bar high for what it truly means to fight the good fight.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Tommy’s personal caregivers, Ron Keirsey and Linda Wooten, whose dedication to his care never wavered.
A private celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date. The family respectfully requests that donations be made in his name to the Hope Lodge in Nashville, T.N. Please visit https://www.cancer.org to give.
“If you’re waiting on me you’re backing up” – Uncle Tom.
