George L. Sparks

George Leonard Sparks, 78, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away October 9, 2021. He was born March 27, 1943, to the late William & Nellie Orbinson Sparks. George was a Church of God Member and loved his wife, children, is church, and family dinners. He also liked to fish, go camping, boating, skiing, traveling, especially to the beach, playing card, watching western movies, Nascar, and being with his family.

In addition to his parents, He is preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Sparks, Bill Sparks, and Paul Sparks; sisters, Virginia and Jaleva Grutrew.

Survived by his loving wife, Lois Verner Sparks; son Phillip (Samantha) Sparks; daughter, Nickie (Wade) Sullivan; siblings, Clinton Sparks, Ada Foor, and Rachel; grandchildren, Tiffany Spark, Jacob Taj, Brinkley Womac, David Lane, Brooklynne Sullivan, Alisha Bradshaw, and Robert Bradshaw; a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, at Companion Funeral Home, followed by the service in the chapel at 1:00 PM, with Timothy Gann officiating. Burial will be held at New Zion Cemetery in Farner, TN, with pallbearers Robert Bradshaw, Terry Powers, Blayne Foster, and Wade Sullivan.
