George E Jorgenson went to be with the Lord on July 8, 2015.George was born December 5, 1937 in Clearwater, Fl. He was the son of the late Chris and Louise Jorgenson.

George is survived by his wife Mary Jorgenson of Delano, TN. He is also survived by his Son John Paul Jorgenson of Arizona , Son Benjamin Jorgenson of Athens, TN, and Daughter Rosemary Moses and son in law Mike Moses of Charleston, TN, Grandson Blake Jorgenson and Daughter in Law Teresa Jorgenson, Granddaughter Casey Mason and her husband Jeff Mason, Granddaughter Kayla Moses and her future husband Austin Calfee, Great Granddaughter Layla Mason, and Sister In Law Bobbie Parsons.

George served proudly in the United States Marin Corps for 8 years.

George and his family moved to Delano, TN from Dunedin, FL in 1979. He was employed at the McMinn County sheriffs from 1979 1980. He was then employed at the Etowah Police Department from 1980 until his retirement as Chief of Police. George loved his community and his community loved him back.

George was a member of New Zion Baptist church. Georges favorite gospel hymnal was Amazing Grace. Gods grace is truly amazing.

There will be no funeral services. George will be laid to rest in Sewanee, FL with a family service. Members and former members of the Etowah Police Department will serve as honorary pall bearers.

The family would like to thank everyone for all the condolences and wonderful gestures of love and kindness. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimers association and can go to Georges tribute page through www.alz.org
