George Douglas Moore

October 15, 1934 — June 10, 2022

George Douglas Moore left this world peacefully on Friday June 10 at the age of 87, following a short but courageous battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place of love and respect in the hearts of family and friends.
Affectionately known as Bud, he was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Dora Mae Moore, brother John (Linda) Moore, sisters Midge (Jerry) Morrison, and Mitzi (Randy) Partin.

Bud is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Shelba Jean McClendon Moore. He leaves behind four children: Cindy (Kent) Maxson, Paula (Kelly) Moore, George (Kara) Moore, and Brian (Amy) Moore, along with four step-children. His sixteen adoring grandchildren and four step-grandchildren will forever miss their beloved Paw-Paw. He welcomed six great-grandchildren in recent years, with two more to arrive soon.

He was employed by Mueller Company in Chattanooga for 38 years, and was a member of Alpine Baptist Church.
No services are scheduled to be held at this time. Following cremation, his ashes will remain with Jeannie. Upon her passing, family and friends will celebrate their lives together in a single memorial service. This will be a fitting legacy and picture of the life they shared.

The family wishes to express our gratitude to the Hospice Care Center of Chattanooga for their dedicated care. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of Chattanooga at https://www.chafoundation.net/contribute-online.

Companion Funeral Home and the Cody family are honored to assist the Moore family with these arrangements.
