Geneva Long

Geneva Long, 64, of Old Fort, TN passed away on March 7, 2017. She was born on February 21, 1953 to the late Wilburn and Beatrice Bivens. Geneva was a lifelong resident of this area and a member Shady Springs Baptist Church. She loved keeping busy and believed in keeping a clean house! Above all things, Geneva loved the Lord and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She put her family before herself no matter how she felt and always cared for them.

In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by an infant brother Thomas Bivens.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 49 years, Bobby Long; three sons: Brian Long (Crystal), Doobie Long (Melissa), and Stephen Long; daughter Jessica Lunsford (Terry); brothers: Carson Bivens, Kenneth Bivens (Clara), Charles Bivens (Connie), Dennis Bivens, and Randy Bivens; sisters: Carolyn Gunter (Bob), Wilma O’Haven (Gerald), Christine O’Dell (Hubert), Bobbie Cross (Don), Gladys Roper (Jerry), Charlotte Sanford (Anthony); grandchildren: Ashley Long (Corey Collins), Kirsten Lunsford, and Trinity Lunsford. In addition to these, Geneva leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday March 9, 2017 at Shady Springs Baptist Church on Horns Creek Road in Oldfort, TN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday March 10, 2017 at Shady Springs with Rev. Rick Woody and Rev. Eddie Trentham officiating. Jeff and Denise Calhoun will be singing. Interment will follow the service on Friday at Conasauga Community Cemetery with Ernest Long, George Maxwell, Paul Bivens, Donald Wilson, Rick Swallows, and Ken Higdon serving as pallbearers.
