Gary Dwayne Simonds

Gary Dwayne Simonds Sr., 65, of Cleveland, TN passed away August 7, 2021 at 1:15 at Parkridge Medical Center from a long battle with lung cancer. He was born in Dade City, FL and resided in Cleveland, TN. He served in the United States Navy and was in the roofing construction business until he retired. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to so many. He had love for his children like you could never imagine. He loved his motorcycles, fishing, and camping and helping anyone who needed it. He was always the life of the party. Never a dull moment when he walked through the door. He was loved by so many and he will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his father Marlin Simonds; mother Matilda Dixon Gann; brother Dennis Simonds; grandson Christian Lenker. Gary is survived by Laura Simonds, the love of his life; children: Gary D Simonds Jr., Leslie A. Simonds, Jacob A. Simonds, Heather N. Simonds, and Emily L. Simonds; stepmother Freida Branch; siblings: Donnie Simonds, Randy Simonds, Glenda Miller, Jimmy Simonds, Lisa Faust, Jennifer Mesa, Michelle Evans, Marlin Simonds, and Barbara Young; grandchildren: Logan Farris, Mikey Simonds, Leslie Rymer, Taylor Lenker, Kegan Lenker, Rylan Esposito, Tilden Simonds, Easton Rector, and Ashton Rector.

Gary’s family will receive friends from 10am until 12pm on Thursday August 12, 2021 at Companion Funeral Home Cleveland Chapel with a service to follow at 12pm He will be laid to rest following his service at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
