Floyd Cornish

August 13, 1955 — September 20, 2017

Floyd E. Cornish, 62, of Delano, TN, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday September 20, 2017 after a courageous battle with small cell lung cancer.
Floyd "Abe" was born in Waverly, NY to Wilbur and Carrie Thomas Cornish. He was a graduate of Waverly High School class of 1973.
Floyd was a truck driver for over 35 years for many major companies in Tennessee and Georgia, often traveling long distance and logistically for local companies. He also help local contractors, friends, and family build and remodel homes. Floyd loved fishing, rock-n-roll, wood working, gardening, and photography. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
Floyd will be dearly missed by his wife Carol Sue; children, Danette (Rodney) O'Daniel, their sons, Tanner & Hunter; Danelle (David) Tant, their children, Amber, Taylor, Blake, Nathan, Hannah & Brandon; Brandy Cornish, her sons, Blake & Logan of Florida; Jacob Floyd Cornish and his daughter, Abigail; step-children: Johnathan (Heather) Hudson, their sons, Race & Jarred; Jessica (Mike) Scholes, their children, Michael Jr., Andrew, Ally (Garret), Reagan and Nate. Floyd is survived by his brothers, Marvin (Becky), Wilbur (Nancy), and Tom (Linda), and sisters, Margurite (Bob), Marylee (Jim), Linda (Gordon) and Cindy (Mitch); nieces, nephews, and extended family in N.Y., TN, GA, & FL, whom he dearly loved.
In addition to his parents, Floyd is preceded in death by his brothers, Michael, Joseph, Julius, and Patrick Cornish.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday November 25, 2017 at his residence in Delano.
