Everett Russell Cox, father, butcher, and carpenter, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the age of 84. He was surrounded by family. He was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky, to Pleasant Alonzo Cox and Hila Esther Paul Cox, the fifth of 9 children.

He was survived by his sisters Betty Cox Lawson and Barbara Cox Hammons; his children named below; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He grew up in the mountains, roaming the hills, climbing trees, finding a swimming hole, making moonshine, and learning to live off the land. He helped provide for the family even as a boy, by fishing and picking poke. He loved music, God, and good food. He learned to play guitar and sang often in church. He married Wilma Thomas in 1957 and they had 7 children all still living: Judy Ann Cox Watts, Sidney M. Cox, Velma Jean Cox Watts, Janet Bonita Cox Malone, Sheila E.
