Evelyn Arlene Gipson

Evelyn Arlene Gipson, 85, of Cleveland, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 24, 2022. She retired from Schering-Plough in 1999, after 15 years of service. There, she was affectionally called “Hammer” for her dancing and entertaining abilities. She was also a pool shark, winning ten 1st place trophies in pool tournaments at the Senior Center. She was born in Divide, Illinois to the late Newton and Gladys Simmons. She was also preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Bobby Gipson, infant son, Gregory Gipson, brother, Fred Simmons, sister, Zella Kester, a niece, and a great-nephew. She is survived by daughters, Pam (Tim) Fugate of Chattanooga, TN, Charlene (Dan) Duckworth of Lenoir City, TN, and Rachel Gipson of Cleveland, four grandsons, Aaron (Sabra) Duckworth, Adam Duckworth, Anderson Duckworth, and Asher Duckworth and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 28, 2022, from 4-7 pm at Companion Funeral Home.
