Evelene "Lene" Allen Murray

April 27, 1933 — June 7, 2018

Evelene “Lene” Allen Murray (Nannie), 85, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, entered the gates of Heaven on June 7, 2018, surrounded by her family at her home. She was born on April 27, 1933 in Polk County to the late Jesse Allen and Lillie Houlk Allen.
She was a devoted wife, mother, loving Nannie, and was loved dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Nothing made her happier than being with her family. She would always make sure she told you just how precious her grandkids are. She loved her Lord and was a faithful member of Eastview Baptist Church, where she served as secretary and housekeeper.
She was a seamstress for her entire working career and worked for many local manufacturers including: Faye Swafford Originals, Collins, and Hi-Lo Industries.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin Allen, Robert Allen, James Allen, J.M. Allen, and Jack Allen; and sisters, Pauline Allen and Mabel McAllister.
Lene leaves behind her loving memories to be cherished by her husband of 60 years, Ivan Murray; son, Rick Murray and his wife, Darlene; grandchildren, Adam & Julie Murray and Dustin & Brittany Murray; great-grandchildren, Max, Stella, Trainer, and Jase Murray; sister, Dorothy Couch; as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and an abundance of close friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday June 10, 2018 from 2:30pm until 4:00pm at Eastview Baptist Church, in Georgetown.
A celebration of life funeral service will begin at 4:00pm at the church, with Pastors Hoyle Ellis, Kenneth Gardner, and Tracy Fansler officiating the service.
Following the service, Mrs. Lene will be laid to rest in the Eastview Baptist Church Cemetery, with Adam Murray, Dustin Murray, Max Murray, David Allen, Dennis Cavett, and Ralph Bryan serving as pallbearers.
