Eulene "Nene" Swafford Bivens

Eulene “Nene” Swafford Bivens, 82, a longtime resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Sunday morning, December 11th, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family. Eulene was born in Birchwood, TN on September 11th, 1934 a daughter of the late Alonzo "L.H". & Annabelle Swafford. She and her late husband Don Bivens worked together for many years operating his local backhoe business. Eulene was an avid bowler who bowled on local leagues for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her precious sisters and her great nephews and nieces as they came along, which is what she loved most. They were the twinkle in her eyes.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry “Don” Bivens, one brother Cecil Swafford, five sisters Virginia Swafford, Louella Posey, Jeanette Taylor, Edith Gaddis and Faye Tucker.

Eulene leaves behind to cherish her memory a special brother in law Gene Tucker, beloved niece and nephews and their families, Kim & Rodney Dillard and their children Tucker & Shanna Dillard, Kaitlin Dillard & Olivia Dillard, Anthony & Kristi Tucker and their children Briley Tucker & Bella Tucker and Gary & Brenda Blackwell. She is also survived by numerous other extended family members and special friends.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers to Don & Eulene over the past few years. To name a few, especially Candace Creighton, Judy Creighton, Lora with Hospice of Chattanooga, Teresa Jenkins, Mary Westfield, Connie Litton and Glenda “Gigi” Green.

A celebration of her life is planned for Wednesday afternoon, December 14th, 2016 at 3:30 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Rd in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Ronald Ledford officiating. Entombment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Anthony Tucker, Rodney Dillard, Tucker Dillard, Mike Wooten, Brandon Wooten and Bobby Goins and will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Tucker and Gary Blackwell.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlor from 1:30 PM until the 3:30 PM service time on Wednesday afternoon.
