Ernest Allen Nethken

Ernest Allen "Buddy" Nethken, 89, of Crossville, TN passed away on May 4, 2021. He was born on July 22, 1931 to the late Norman and Margaret Nethken. He has lived in Crossville for the past 22 years, after moving there from Cleveland. When he was in Cleveland, Ernest was a longtime member of Stanfield Baptist Church. Ernest loved working on cars, listening to bluegrass music, drinking coffee, and smoking his pipe. Above all things, he loved his family and spending time with them.
In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his wife Ida Collins Nethken; son in law Tommy Layman; four brothers; two sisters; and one great great granddaughter VB Rose Ellison.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Lou Ann Layman; sister Wilma Layman of Ohio; grandchildren: Chris Scoggins, David Scoggins, Carrie Gentry; eight great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Friday May 7, 2021 at Eastview Baptist Church Cemetery.
