Elizabeth Madeline Gann

April 20, 1932 — March 11, 2018

Elizabeth Madeline “Mattie” was born in Trinity, N.C. February 2014 Ms. Gann became a resident of Heritage Senior Living Home in Dayton, TN. On Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the age of 85 during her life she enjoyed traveling, cooking and entertaining others. She always wanted to serve others than being served. Ms. Gann will be deeply missed by those who have known and loved her.
During Ms. Ganns life she was a very active member of the Eastern Star at the Highland Park Chapter in L.A. California, also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Shriners. For her love of cooking she became a member of the Southern Nevada Culinary Arts Institute.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Gunnery Sgt. Earnest A. Burton, also by her second husband, Master Sgt. Gilbert L. Gann Jr.; father and mother, James Madison Robbins and Ruby Virginia Overby Robbins; step-father, Peter Kulakowski; brother, Bobby Ray Robbins.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Polson wife of Greg Polson; sister, Anna Lee Gross of Hillsborough N.C.; grandchildren, Cynthia Holifield, Randall (Myra) Bridges JR., Melissa Polson ; great grandchildren, Larry Hobock Jr., Joshua Webster, Destiny Megan Rhea Webster; great great grandchildren, Trayton Bostic, Cali Quinley, Larry L. Hobock, Bella Hobock, Aden Hobock, Evan Taylor, Rodney Carter Jr; nieces and nephews, Sharon (Mark) Whalen, Arthur (Eddye Jo) Morrison, Charlotte (Leo) Cloutier, Lauren Ellie James, along with several other nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 3:00pm until 6:00pm only at Companion Funeral Home: Cleveland Chapel, in Cleveland, TN. She will be laid to rest in High Point N.C.
