On Monday, December 2, 2019 , Edward Forrest Wilkerson, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at age 78 at home surrounded by family.
Edward was born on September 17, 1941 in Samson, AL to Edward Olon and Imogene J Wilkerson. The family moved to Florida where Edward remained until he proudly served in the United States Army. Edward then resided in South Georgia until later in life he moved to Northwest Georgia (Tunnel Hill) where he resided until passing. Edward’s passions were gardening, modifying and tinkering with things around the house, watching wrestling, his RV, and helping his wife as she needed him.
Edward was preceded in death by his father, Edward Olon, his mother, Imogene J, his son, Terry Wilkerson and his daughter Tamara Wilkerson. He is survived by his wife Patsy Boyd Wilkerson , his two children; Ronald E Wilkerson of Valdosta, Ga and Kenneth James Wilkerson of Waycross, Ga, his three step children; Susie Rich, Jeremy Baggett, and Chris Baggett all of Tunnel Hill, Ga, two grandchildren; Kenneth “Boo” Wilkerson, Jr. of Leesburg, Ga, and Hayden B Butler (husband Josh) of Blackshear, Ga, and four great grandchildren; Carson, Gabriel, Kameron, and Ryleigh Kate. He was also survived by his sisters; Dorothy J Lyons (husband JT) of Clearwater, Fl, Kimberly J Livingston (Husband Steve) of Dallas, Ga, Karli A Smith (Husband Paul) of Rockford, IL, his brother; Leslie C Wilkerson (wife Betty) of Brooksville, Fl and several nieces and nephews. The memorial service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Baptist Church, Dalton, Ga with Chaplain Greg Collins officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors following the service.
