Edna Ruth Thompson

June 23, 1931 — June 3, 2021

Edna Ruth Thompson began her journey of life in Bradley County, June 23rd, 1931. Her journey ended June 3, 2021 when she met her Heavenly Father. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cleveland and she retired from American Uniform of forty-five plus years. My mom was a gentle, kind loving soul, a wonderful Mother, wife and she loved her family so very much and especially all her grandchildren. She loved her church family as well and missed being able to attend in the past few years. She was an awesome seamstress at work and personally, she enjoyed crocheting as a winter pastime. She enjoyed sewing at home as well. She was an avid gardener from vegetables to flowers and loved to pick blackberries. She shared her love of gardening to many as well as the vegetables. She loved growing all vegetables however tomatoes were her favorite and you knew this from their size and taste.
She also loved to grow flowers of all kinds out her most favorite was the Iris. She had all colors and all types of this flower. She shared those with her friends so they could enjoy growing them too. Her favorite place was the Great Smoky Mountains and the fall foliage; she missed visiting there as her health declined over the years. This beautiful place has now been replaced with Heaven.
Preceded in death by her parents Edward and Pearl Moore Harrison; brother Eugene Harrison; two sons Garry “Hub” Thompson and Mark A. Thompson.

Survived by her husband of seventy-three years, Willard Thompson; daughter Patricia West (Ralph); brother Kenneth Harrison (Mary); five grandchildren, Michael Finnell (Jenni), Aaron Finnell (Vicki), Brittany Hooper (Lamar), Garrett Thompson, Grayson Thompson and Michelle Archuleta Arnold; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two daughters in love Lisa Thompson and Tess Thompson; grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
