Dr. Brian Barnett

Dr. Brian Barnett, 90 passed on to heaven on November 28, 2022. Born in London,, England July 19, 1932, he lived through the Blitz of WWII and served in the Royal Air Force. He married his beloved “Jeanie” upon returning from his tour in Egypt, where he lived in a tent for two years.

He felt the call to the ministry and after graduating with the first of many degrees in theology, as he and his bride began a ministry together that would eventually lead him to relocate his family to the United States and opportunities to preach the gospel around the world.

He ministered in the Elim Pentecostal Church and prior to immigrating to the United States served as that denominations International Youth Director and Pastor of the second largest church. He sensed God calling him to join the Church of God and he served as evangelist, church planter, pastor, State Overseer, College President and served on numerous committees and boards.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years Jean and their daughter Hilary Ann. Brian is survived by his daughter Shirley Pace (Terry), two grandchildren Hilary Reid (Michael), Robert Pace (Skye), two great-grandchildren Addison Katherine and Elizabeth Quinn Reid and his sister Marion Barnett-Adams and Niece Valarie Sambrook.

A memorial service will be held at North Cleveland Church of God, Dixon Chapel on Friday, December 2, 2022. Visitation will be from 12-1 with the service following at 1.
