Doris Dean Crane

May 31, 1934 — April 8, 2017

Doris Dean Crane, 83, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday night, April 8th, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a very faithful member of North Cleveland Church of God where she loved singing in the choir and being a member of the Unity Sunday School class, the Geneva Circle and the Peacemakers. She also served as the Nursery Director for 25 years. She helped manage The Towers at North Cleveland Church of God for 19 years and worked as the office manager for 21 years. She was a member of the Republican Party and religiously worked with early voting. For several years, she was a Red Cross volunteer at Bradley Memorial Hospital always putting others before herself. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Dooley (Jack) and Leona McConnell Dooley, two sons, Johnny Crane and Bobby Crane and grandson Ervin Kyle Stokes Jr. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 64 years, Robert L. Crane (Bob), two sisters, Lucille Herron, Nell Dotson, one brother, Jack Dooley, daughter, Lynn Stokes and husband Ervin of Everglade City, FL, daughter, Margaret Hensley and husband Rick of Cleveland, TN, daughter, Janet Ball and husband Jimmy of Phoenix, AZ, son David Crane and wife Kelli of Cleveland, TN. Grandchildren: Christopher Stokes and wife Kathy, Suzanne Stokes, Jason Hensley, Marissa Hensley and Jay Cooke, Jennifer Caldwell and husband Andy, Emily Ball, Jared Ball, Kaitlyn Crane, Madilyn Crane and Skyler Bilyeu. Great-grandchildren: Dalton Stokes, Chase Stokes, Jada Stokes, Damien Stokes, Ayden Caldwell, Collin Caldwell and Jameson Cooke. She also leaves behind a very special family pet, Macy.

A Celebration of her life is planned for Tuesday evening, April 11th, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the Dixon Chapel of North Cleveland Church of God located at 335 11th Street in Cleveland, TN with Pastor Cy Harris and Pastor Mark Williams officiating. The family will receive friends in the Dixon Chapel from 5:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time on Tuesday. The interment and committal service will take place on Wednesday morning, April 12th, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Pastor Mitch Maloney officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
