Despina Realmuto

Despina Realmuto [Lotakis], 70, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2019 in her home in Ocoee. Born on February 20, 1949, she has been a resident of NY, Florida and most recently Tennessee.

As a teacher for 33 years at Otsego Elementary School in Dix Hills, NY, Mrs. Realmuto inspired many kindergarten and first grade students. Her love for teaching was apparent long after retirement. Despi’s talents included crocheting and quilting. So many will forever cherish the beautiful gifts she lovingly made them.

Despi is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Calliope Lotakis, and her brother Stephen. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and devoted husband of 49 years, Charles Realmuto, sons Christopher Realmuto and Richard Realmuto, daughter-in-law Mary Realmuto, grandchildren Katherine and Alexander Realmuto, sister Georgia Longo and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Family and friends will miss the warm and generous way she welcomed them into her heart and home.

A memorial service will be held on March 16 in Ocoee, Tennessee and at Florida Memorial Gardens in Melbourne, Florida on April 7.
