Obituary

Dennis Lamar Scoggins, 72, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Saturday morning, February 7th, 2015. Dennis was born in Cleveland, TN on February 5th, 1943 a son of the late Clarence E. Scoggins Sr. & Rosanna Goins Scoggins. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army after faithfully serving his country during the Vietnam War. Dennis worked for Manufacturers Chemicals and also Pepsi Cola before retirement. He was of the Christian faith. Dennis loved to take his race car and participate in the weekly races at the Cleveland Speedway. He also enjoyed watching football and fishing in his pastime.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death be five brothers Clarence Scoggins Jr. ("Junior" ), Carl J. Scoggins, Donald Scoggins, Claude Scoggins and Bobby Scoggins.

Dennis leaves behind to cherish his memory two sisters Barbara Knight and her husband H. L. and Wanda Cavet, one brother Gail Scoggins and his wife Juanita, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A graveside service is planned for Tuesday, February 10th, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Lee Cemetery with the Reverend Guinn Green officiating. The service will also include military honors to honor Dennis's service to our country.

The family will receive friends on Monday night, February 9th, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN.
