Delores Yvonne Long

Delores Chapman Long, was born on October 4, 1943 in Rye Cove, VA where she graduated from Rye Cove high school. She served with her husband for 26 years as a missionary with Rock of Ages Ministries in Cleveland, TN, writing and proofreading Bible lessons for inmate, military, and church students. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ellen Chapman of Rye Cove, VA.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 54 years, Dr. Charles W. Long; one daughter Katrina Hohmann, granddaughter Martika (Nathaniel) Bowen, two grandsons Ethan and Noah, three sisters Donetta (Stan) Pierce, Gwenda (Houston) Smith, Sandra (Dr. Brad) Davis of Blountville, TN, two brothers Herman Chapman and Will Chapman.
The family will receive friends from 3-7pm Monday, March 18, 2019 at Shenandoah Baptist Church: 138 Osment Rd SE, Cleveland, TN 37323. The celebration of life service will be held at 7pm following the visitation. Dr. Terry Ellis: president of Rock of Ages Ministry, and Pastor David Gamble will be officiating the service.
The family will also hold a visitation and service Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 3-7pm with a service being held at 7pm at Bibleway Baptist Church: 570 Packing House Rd, Kingsport, TN 37660. Interment will take place Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 11am at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Kingsport.
