Deborah Ann West

On Friday, October 21, 2022, Deborah Ann West passed away peacefully at the age of 65. She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Moats; mother, Shirley Pickens Furr; stepmother, Fannie Moats, and step-sisters Brenda Deal and Linda Ledford.

Debbie was never happier than when she was surrounded by her family. She enjoyed lazy days in her pool, weekends in the mountains, a good old-fashioned gospel singing, and any auction that had a hot cup of coffee. The Lord blessed her with music in her soul and she loved to sing for Him. She was committed to her business, The Store, and dearly loved her customers with many of them becoming great friends over the years. Debbie was the kind of woman who could have fun anywhere she went. And she did. She lived a life full of laughter. She will be so very missed by those who called her wife, Mom, Nuno, Sister, Aunt, and friend.

She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Charles F. “Smokey” West; her brother, David Moats; sons Charles K. West (Marisa) and James H. West (Cody); daughter Kimberly Breese (Clark); step-sons, Kenneth F. West (Jessica) and Billy C. West (Kelley); grandchildren, Immanuel West, Kizzie Breese, Kayla West, Kyle West, Tucker Harrod, Megan Brewster, Katie West, and Ali West. She also leaves behind her remarkable, lifelong best friend Ivadell Martin and many great-grandchildren, nephews, cousins, and other very loved family members.

The family will receive visitors at the Companion Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel in Cleveland, on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 11 AM until 3 PM.

Funeral services will be held at the chapel at 3 PM, with Rev. Eddie Trentham officiating. Pallbearers will include Kyle West, Tucker Harrod, Danny Moats, Garret Moats, Will Martin, and Scott Parris. Graveside service and interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to your favorite local charity.
