David Owen Bunch

David Owen Bunch, after 82 years, went to be with the Lord and Savior on the evening of April 30th, 2023. He was surrounded by his loved ones in his final moments.

David was born July 9th, 1940, in Georgetown, TN. When he was just 16, David joined the National Guard and then joined the U.S. Army at 18. In 1962, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Bunch. He retired in 1981 as a Master Sergeant for the Army after an exemplary career that lasted almost 30 years. He had a beautiful family. He was a superhero to his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Dorothy Bunch (wife), father Earnie Bunch, Mother Mary Bunch, brothers Hoyt, Tom, Paul, Jack & JD Bunch, as well as daughter Jamie Bunch and 2 granddaughters, Tabatha Kelley and Donna Marie Ortiz.

He is survived by his children Donna from Buckeye, AZ, Curtis (Sheila), Mary & Tomie Bunch (Andy) all from Cleveland, TN, and a very special niece Donna Searels (Cary) from Pine Mountain, GA. As well as 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, & 1 great-great-grandchild, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving friends Wednesday May 3rd, 2023, from 7:00pm until 9:00 pm in the Cleveland chapel of Companion Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held in his honor Thursday, May 4th, 2023, at 11:00 am led by longtime friend of David’s, Reverend Don Blessing. A graveside service at Johnston Cemetery will follow.
