David Lee Scoggins

David Lee Scoggins, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2023, in Cleveland, Tennessee. Born on May 9, 1973, in Cartersville, Georgia, David was a devoted family man who brought joy and laughter to everyone he met.


David is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Scoggins; his son, Justin Scoggins; his daughter, Tiffany Garvich; his father and stepmother, Jerry (Joy) Scoggins; his mother, Lou Layman; his brother, Chris Scoggins; his sister, Carrie Gentry; and his cherished grandchildren, Kaylee, McKenzie, Kayden, Grayson, and Zane.


He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Earnest and Ida Collins Nethken; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Pearl Scoggins; his niece, Rose Ellison; and his best friend, Bobby Keith.


Throughout his life, David was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his profession. He spent many years working on heavy equipment, where he gained the respect and admiration of his colleagues. David's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends. As a father, David was a guiding force in the lives of his children, Justin and Tiffany. He instilled in them the values of hard work, determination, and the importance of family. David was also a doting grandfather, and he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Kaylee, McKenzie, Kayden, Grayson, and Zane.


Those who knew David would describe him as loving, funny, and selfless. He had a unique ability to light up a room with his infectious laughter and warm personality. David was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, and his selflessness was a shining example of the kind of person he was. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.


In addition to his immediate family, David is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory. He was a beloved member of his community, and his passing leaves a void that will be felt by many.
