David Hiram Mccrosky

David Hiram McCrosky, age 80 of Oak Ridge, TN, went home to be with his Lord on April 8, 2021. He was born July 4, 1940 in Burgin, KY, the only son of Alford Davis McCrosky and Lettie Baker McCrosky. His parents and his wife, Wanda R McCrosky, precede him in death.

David was a long-time educator in the Oak Ridge School System beginning right out of college and retiring in 2002. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1963 with a BS in Business and then became certified to teach business education. He loved teaching, spending fifteen years at Jefferson Middle School and the rest of 39 years at Oak Ridge High School. He was well liked by his students, faculty and parents. He taught business and art and did some guidance counseling at Jefferson, and taught business, typing and computers at Oak Ridge High School. He earned a Masters Degree in Vocational Technical Education at University of TN. He taught adult education and was the Director of Adult Education for one year.

He was a born again Christian and was a member of Heritage Fellowship since 1980 serving in many capacities from Elder, Sunday school teacher, choir member, VBS director and Rise and Shine.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Todd Wright (Karen Hall); daughter, Andrea Erin Wright Campbell-Brown (Tommy); granddaughter, Briley Morgan Wright (Logan Williams); and grandsons Blake William Campbell, Brett Kether Campbell, Baylor Michael Wright, Tucker Lee Campbell and his namesake Graham David Campbell. He loved his family. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. He especially loved celebrating vacations to Arizona, Florida, and Myrtle Beach with the whole gang. He loved traveling with his wife to Aruba, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Hawaii and Alaska.

The family will receive friends at The Chapel on the campus of Lee University in Cleveland, TN from 4:30-6:30pm on Monday, April 12th, with the memorial service immediately following at 6:30pm.
