Daniel William Morton

Daniel “Dan” William Morton, 57, of Cleveland, TN passed away on September 8, 2019. He was born on March 21, 1962 to the late James William “Bill” Morton and Harriet Morton. Dan has been a resident of Cleveland for the past 23 years. He was a member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church and was a strong man of God who loved to share about his faith with others. Dan was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served as a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. This training allowed him to move his work into the private sector, ultimately owning his own company, M&M Aviation Solutions. Dan enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as many other hobbies and he always seemed to have a “new project.” Above all things, he loved his family and was a tremendous husband and father. He will be dearly loved and greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his father James William “Bill” Morton and his father and mother in law John and Dot Runyan.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 30 years, Kristy Morton; children Kelsey Morton and Colton Morton; mother Harriet Morton; siblings: Denise Pierce (Michael) and Darris Morton (Kim Weldon). In addition to these, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Thursday September 12, 2019 at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church located on Georgetown Road. A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00pm at the church with Rev. Collin Cooke officiating. A graveside service with full military honors will take place at 1:30pm on Friday September 13, 2019.
