Dakota (Cody) Couch

Dakota (Cody) Couch, age 27, died on February 22, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born December 18, 1992 in Mansfield, Ohio and is the son of Stephanne (Whitlatch) Payne and Scott Couch. He attended and graduated from Central High School in 2011 and is a Navy veteran.
Dakota was an avid gamer, ranked highly in League of Legends and similar games as well an anime fanatic and a proud Hufflepuff. He was an incredible son, a patient and loving brother, a loyal and dependable friend, and an extraordinarily compassionate individual. These are the traits that Dakota will always be remembered for.
Dakota is survived by his mother, Stephanne, sister, Jessica, and step-father, Michael, of Birchwood; and his father, Scott, and step-mother, Renee, of North Lewisburg, Ohio. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Michael and Patricia Whitlatch; his paternal grandparents, Rick and Sandy Montgomery as well as Mike and Jana Couch; his paternal great-grandfather, Jim Billheimer; his uncle and aunt, Matt and Tiffany Whitlatch; his cousin, McKenzie Whitlatch; and additional uncles and cousins on his paternal side. He is also survived by his lifelong best friend, Maghan Elizabeth.
Private services are to be held. In lieu of sending the family flowers, donations can be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Memorial donations can help create a lasting and positive legacy in Dakota’s name and help create some positive change within the world in the wake of this tragedy.
