Clara May Chapman

Clara May Chapman 86, of Cleveland, TN passed away Sunday June 4, 2017 at a local healthcare facility. She was born on July 12, 1930 to the late William R. and Kathleen H. McConnell in Cleveland, Ohio where she spent most of her life, retiring as a licensed practical nurse from Fairview General Hospital. Clara has lived in Cleveland, TN for the past ten years.
She was a member of Grace Assembly of God in Cleveland, TN. Her life exemplified what it means to be a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and nurse. She will be remembered for her kindness to all.
In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Chapman and sons David G. Chapman and Douglas A Chapman. She leaves behind to cherish her memory three sons: Daniel E. Chapman, Charles L. Chapman, and Kenneth D. Chapman; three brothers: Robert McConnell (Sandy), Philip McConnell (Elise), and Bill McConnell (Marilyn), and sister Linda Lipscomb (Byron); sixteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday June 7, 2017 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until the 7:00pm service time. Interment will be held at 12:00pm on Friday June 9, 2017 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Avon, OH.
