Charlotte Virginia Brown

January 25, 1938 — July 24, 2020

Charlotte “Grammy” Brown, 82 of Cleveland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 24, 2020, at her home. She was a hardworking, loving mother who was devoted to and loved her family and friends. She lived life to the fullest & she loved being with people. She never met a stranger and treated everyone with an infectious smile. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was a lifelong resident of the area and loved to travel. Charlotte had a special place in her heart for children and showed love to all children. She was the greatest mom ever.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Brown; daughter, Tammy Brown; brothers, Edward Fowler, Quinton Fowler, Maylor Fowler, and Mitchell Fowler; and sisters, China Cochran, Verna Lee Millsaps, and Betty Smith.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, children, Rhonda (Sam) Arms of Polk County, Angie (Randy) Davis of Cleveland, Shannon (Steve) Withrow of Cleveland, and Kevin (Shea) Brown of Benton; grandchildren, Sarah (Tim) Arms of Raleigh, NC, Bailey (Derek) Turner of London, KY, Katie (Sam) Landrith of Nashville, and Campbell Brown of Benton; sisters, Elaine Whaley, Trunisha Owenby, Janice Tatum, and Judy Burns.

The family will receive friends from 2:00PM until 5:00PM on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Samples Memorial Baptist Church located at 371 Samples Church Road SE in Cleveland. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:00PM with Reverend Mark Cameron officiating. Charlotte will be laid to rest in the church cemetery following her service.

Special thanks, honor and appreciation to our dear friend and caregiver, Denise Calhoun, who sacrificed her time and family to take great care of our mom. Words cannot express how thankful, blessed & grateful we are to have her in our lives. We love you and appreciate you more than you know. Lastly, her family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Chattanooga for their love and compassion towards our precious mother.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Samples Memorial Baptist Church where Charlotte was the longest living charter member.
