Charlotte Ann Capehart Bischoff, 81, of Birchwood, Tenn., passed away Dec. 29, 2022. She was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Feb. 5, 1941 to the late Chester and Carolyn Capehart. Charlotte spent her life serving others, whether it was her family, friends or community. She was an active member of the Auxiliary of the Gideons International, where she held numerous offices, and a long-time member of Birchwood Baptist Church, where she was a founding member of the Senior Neighbors program. In her professional life, Charlotte was a medical lab technician at CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John Jefferson Bischoff. She is survived by her children, Janet Bischoff (John Etheredge) and Vann Bischoff (Amanda), and her grandchildren, Charlie, Ella and Vivian Bischoff.
Charlotte’s family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 6 at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, Tenn., from 10 a.m. until noon. A Celebration of Life service will follow at noon, with David Delmotte and Bob Schafer officiating. She will then be laid to rest at 2 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
