Charles Walter "Charlie" Hopkey

May 6, 1938 — December 18, 2018

Charles Walter “Charlie” Hopkey was called home to the Lord God at his home on the 18th of December 2018. He was born in Oakland, CA on May 6th, 1938 and was a faithful member of Tellico Plains Church of God. Charlie served four years in the Marines and began then began many years as a drywall carpenter, a several years working at the Shasta County jail in California. After moving to Tellico Plains he worked for the Forestry Department and also at Shortbark before retiring to try his hand at farming. He was a Webelos Scout Leader as well as a Cub Scout pack leader.
He is survived by his wife Cheri, sons Nick Hopkey and his wife Annette of Minnisota and Trenton Hopkey and his wife Pam of Tellico Plains, and one daughter Jacqueline Sanchez of Las Vegaes, Nevada, 11 grandhchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
