Charles Edward Sneed

Charles Edward Sneed, 85, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at his home. He was born on October 19, 1931 to the late Mildred Jackson Sneed and Charlie Boyd Sneed. He faithfully served his country in the US Navy. Charles was a beloved deacon of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church for 39 years. All that knew Charles knew that he loved to fish and watch UT ball, but more than anything, he loved spending time with his family.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Faye McElrath Sneed; one brother, Owen Sneed; one grandchild, and one great-grandchild.
Charles leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving children, Dale Sneed and his wife Ginger, Teresa Allen and her husband Marvin, Karen Wright, Danny Sneed and his wife Lourdes, Jeff Sneed and his wife Becky, and Kelli Suits and her husband Brian. He has thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Charles is also survived by six siblings, Betty Hooper, Reba Webb, Jimmie Sneed, Barbara McCallum, Linda Gentry, and Shirley Gaylor, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
A celebration of life service is planned for 7:00pm on Thursday March 30, 2017 at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church, located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW, with Pastor Gary Moats and Pastor Sammy Hooker officiating the service.
The family will receive friends four hours prior, from 3:00pm until the 7:00pm service time at the church.
A graveside service will be held on Friday March 31, 2017 at 10:00am in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers are: Shaun Sneed, Russell Sneed, Nathan Sneed, Charlie Sneed, Cason Suits, Tim Sneed, and Denny Webb. The deacons of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
