Charles Edward Raburn

Charles Edward Raburn, 88, of Cleveland, TN passed away on December 15, 2018. He was born on February 3, 1930 to the late Elijah and Jenny Raburn. Charles has lived in Cleveland for the past 46 years and attended Waterville Baptist Church. Charles retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years. He enjoyed woodworking and his morning coffee with his friends at Hardee’s. Charles was a godly man and loved his family dearly. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his brother Hershel Raburn; sisters: Emma Sue Poninski, Susan Hacker, and Effie Jean Hendrix.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 66 years, Vivian Raburn; sons: James Raburn (Freida), Mike Raburn (Vickie), and Richard Raburn; grandchildren: Steven Raburn (Christy), Jason Raburn, Leasha Newton (Philip), Ashley Starnes (Brad); great grandchildren: Bethany Raburn, Courtney Raburn, Hunter Raburn, and Cooper Starnes; great great grandchildren: Amelia and Lincoln.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday December 19, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:30pm at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD, Cleveland, TN 37311. A celebration of life service will be held at 7:30pm at the funeral home with Rev. Coby Goins officiating. A graveside service will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday December 20, 2018 at Clearwater Cemetery in McMinn County. Philip Newton, Brad Starnes, Greg Hicks, Bill Crisp, Steven Raburn, David Raburn, and Bob Gentry will serve as pallbearers.
