Charles Donald "Don" Defriese

Charles Donald “Don” DeFriese passed away peacefully, Sunday Dec. 17, 2017 at his residence. He was born to the late Charles and Juanita Colbaugh DeFriese on March 18, 1938. He was a retired truck driver, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and an avid Horseman. He was the former farrier for the Mounted Bureau of the Detroit Police Dept. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church. He was a great story teller and enjoyed spending time with his family and Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Billy Jo DeFriese, brothers, Calvin, Jerry and Larry DeFriese. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 51 yrs. Evelyn Corvin DeFriese. His children Charles “Chuck” DeFriese (Sandy) and Marta “Dee” Cogdill (Eddie). Grandchildren, Christopher (Ginger) DeFriese, Travis (Katy) DeFriese, Elizabeth DeFriese, Lindsay Cogdill and Hayden Cogdill. Great Grandchildren, Eli, Jacob, Bram, Gabby, Boone, Parker and Jack DeFriese. One sister, Barbara Sue Lines, brothers, Arvel DeFriese, Fred (Johnnie) DeFriese and Tony (Kathleen) DeFriese and one sister-in-law Brenda DeFriese and many nieces and Nephews. The family will have a private viewing Wednesday Dec. 20, 2017 @ 5:00 p.m. and a Visitation and Memorial Service for family and friends on Thursday Dec. 21, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with memorial to begin at 7:00pm at Companion Funeral Home.
