Obituary

Charity Pate Todd, age 89, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 at SkyRidge Medical Center in Cleveland, TN. She was born January 12, 1926 in Clio, SC to the late Edgar Pate and the former Edna Jane Tyndall. Charity resided Cleveland for the past five years and attended North Cleveland Church of God, but lived most of her life in Sanford, NC where she was a member of Sanford Church of God.

Charity was a wonderful lady and the Lord was most important in her life. She read the Bible through many times even until recently. Charity was a very independent and brave woman who had a very hard upbringing, but despite the hard times she raised four beautiful children and managed to provide for them and herself. She was an extremely hard worker and retired from Coty Cosmetics. In retirement she was very proud to volunteer for Central Carolina Hospital and did so until she was unable. Charity also loved her flowers. She had a green thumb and could put a stick in the ground and it would blossom into something beautiful.

Along with her parents, Charity is preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Todd Martin; brothers, Douglas Pate, Harold Pate and Elbert Pate; sisters, Edith McAlister, Lily Mae Bowen, Viola Graham and Mildred Goff.

Charity leaves behind her sons, Tim Todd (Marie), Randy Todd (Janna) and Wayne Todd; sister, Elsie Williams; grandchildren, Charity Sullivan, Travis, Rosana, Randall, and Marc Todd, Timmy Turner; step grandchildren, Paul and Michael DuBose; great-grandchildren, Tristan Turner, Linda Sullivan, Aiden Williams, and Georgia, Caroline, and Warren Todd.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 14, 2015 at Sanford Church of God at 12:00pm with Pastor David Kimbrell officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, September 13, 2015 from 10:00am until service time. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery in McColl, SC.
