Carl Newton Gregg

Obituary
Carl Newton Gregg, 86, a resident of Decatur, Tennessee, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, February 16th, 2015. Carl was known for being a skilled transmission repairman and even owned his own business, Greggs Transmission Repair. He also faithfully served his country during the Korean War along with serving his community by being a deputy for 14 years in the Cleveland City Police Department. Carl will always be remembered as being a loving father, grandfather, and friend.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Paul Gregg, as well as two sisters.
Carl leaves behind to cherish his memory his son, Carl Gregg Jr., granddaughter, Danielle (Jake) Phillips, Great-grandson, Jackson Starnes, and his brother, Don Gregg.
A funeral service is planned for Friday, February 20th, 2015 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, Tennessee, 37311. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery with military honors.
The family will also be receiving friends an hour prior from 12:00PM until the 1:00PM service time.
