Bonnie Burch Sprunk

Bonnie Cathleen Burch Sprunk died on January 25, 2020 at home holding hands with her husband and beside her dog Tux. Bonnie was a graduate of Cleveland High School and alumna of Middle Tennessee State University. Her career included working as a Swim Coach at the Cleveland YMCA, an executive in the auto industry in Middle Tennessee, and in customer services at Maytag. This month marked her 11th year as a friend of Bill and she was on the Board of Directors of ODAAT. She grew up in the Broad Street United Methodist Church. Bonnie loved enjoying all-you-can-eat crab legs, dancing and singing with her kids, being surrounded by her dogs, baking homemade Christmas cookies, finding Coke-a-Cola memorabilia, drinking unsweetened tea, and wearing tie-dye clothes. Bonnie was a fighter. Multiple Sclerosis and other auto-immune diseases attacked, but she was not willing to give in. Her family expresses gratitude to her Higher Power that she is no longer in pain and that we can remember a curly-headed girl who was filled with compassion and joy.

She is survived by her husband Kurt Sprunk of nine plus years and love of her life. She had three children. Her son Alexander Tipper (Shelby) of Guntersville Lake, Alabama, and grandson Carter. Natalie Tipper of Lewisburg, Tennessee and children Saxon Hooten and Bennett Cole. Shelly Schuster (Greg) of Huntsville, Alabama and children Thomas and Cora. Her parent’s Bill & Jola Burch of Cleveland, Tennessee and her brother Brian Burch (DeAnne) of Pearisburg, Virginia give thanks for her.

The family will receive friends at the Companion Funeral Home from 4-7 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2020. Those coming are encouraged to show their love for Bonnie by wearing her favorite color: tie-dye. Formal clothing is discouraged.
