Bobby Joe Helton

Bobby Joe Helton, 87, a lifelong resident of Charleston, TN passed away on October 14, 2022, at his home. He was born in Cleveland, TN on September 22, 1935, a son of the late Milburn & Leona Helton. Bobby was an honorably discharge veteran of the United States Army after faithfully serving his country. He worked until retirement with the Tennessee Department of Transportation as a civil engineer. Bobby was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and being outdoors, but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Johnnie Faye “Pat” Helton.

Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory one daughter Ginger Celeste Helton Green and her husband Lamar, one son Bobby “Todd” Helton, one sister Betty Mashburn, four grandchildren Chelsea L. Helton Hancock (Jon), Logan D. Helton, Briton C. Helton and Chandler A. Collette, nieces and nephews Sonya Cronan, Keturah Howard and Timothy Mashburn and their families, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening October 18, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Cleveland chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN.

A private family graveside will be held in the Union Grove Church of God Cemetery with the Reverend Keith Watson officiating.
