Bobby Gene Orr

Bobby Gene Orr, 79, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019. He was born May 26, 1939 to the late Robert Lee Orr and Ollie Jane Bedwell Orr. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all of the many that knew him. Although he was the owner of Orr’s Produce in his final years, many Cleveland residents will recall his time as the legendary voice of Cleveland Speedway during the 70's and 80's. NO ONE could call a race and tell stories like Bobby "TOO TALL" Orr! Additionally, Bobby Gene Orr served honorably as a Marine from 1956 to 1962. He worked hard his entire life and had many hobbies, but his family and friends were his passion. Bobby Gene Orr, you will be missed, but never forgotten!

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two children: Sylvia Lavern Orr and Bobby Lynn Orr; brothers Bennie H. Orr and Thomas L. Orr; and sisters, Joyce Orr Goodwin and Mary Ruth Calhoun.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 45 years, Charlotte Orr of Cleveland; his children, Janie Orr of Cleveland, Karen Hubbard and her husband Michael Hubbard of Ooltewah, TN and Brad Hughes of Harland, Indiana; his grandchildren Mary Elizabeth Orr Woodruff, Alexander Lee Hudson, Logan Woodruff, Dustin Orr, Evan Hubbard, Adam Hubbard, Andrew Hughes, Tiffany Smith, Kristi Hughes and Jennifer Hernandez; his sister Phyllis Mitchell of Baltimore, Maryland; and also great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Kinser Church of God located at 141 Kinser Road SE, Cleveland, TN. A celebration of life service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Companion Funeral and Cremation Service in Cleveland, TN, with Reverend Guinn E. Green and Pastor David Crump officiating and burial to follow at Charleston City Cemetery.
