Betty Jean Quinn

February 17, 1930 — March 29, 2020

Betty Jean Quinn, 90, of Cleveland, TN, went home to be with the Lord March 29, 2020 at a local health care facility. She was born February 17, 1930 in Ooltewah, TN to the late William Wilson Quinn and Clara Mae Quinn.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Albert Earls; brothers: Lee, Chester, and James Quinn and sisters: Evelyn Quinn and Janice Quinn Powell. She was preceded in death by her great great granddaughter, Wanda Lynn Snyder.
She was raised on a farm in Ooltewah, TN and farmed most of her life. She and her husband bought a farm in the early 1950s. While her husband worked a public job, Betty raised beef cattle, grew produce, milked and churned butter. She canned and preserved food, and was an excellent cook. Her brothers and sisters told her that she was the only one of them that cooked like their mother. She would treat her friends with a cake or pie for Christmas each year, and they would always look forward to those tasty baked items. Betty delivered calves, repaired fences, and anything else that needed to be done. She could drive a tractor, plow, bush hog, and she enjoyed hunting and fishing. She would dress the meat and cook it. She was also very gifted at sewing, appliqueing, quilting, and crocheting. Betty enjoyed crafts, flowers, and flower arranging. She went to bee school, and had her own bee hives.
Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters Geraldine (Geri) and her husband, Daniel Brown and Cindy and her husband, Robert Hamilton; brother Denward Quinn (Ann) of Ooltewah; sisters: Jane Quinn Berry and Jawnese Quinn Sloop both of Ooltewah and sister in law Mildred Quinn of Harrison; four grandchildren: Danny (Kadie), and David (Stephanie) Brown, James (Jamie) Hamilton, (Jenny) and Kelly Hamilton Cornelius (Kyle); five great-grandchildren: Adrien Hamilton Snyder (Justin), Hailee Hamilton, and Nora Mae Cornelius, Walker and Elijah Brown; and two great great grandchildren: Remington and William Henry Snyder.
A private service will be held and Betty will be laid to rest at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.
