Benny Ralph Gates

Benny Ralph Gates, 75, of Riceville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. Benny was born in Athens, Tennessee on December 27, 1946, to the late Tom Ben and Alma Geneva Gates. Benny loved the Lord and doing ministry work. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and artifact hunting arrowheads with his grandchildren.

Along with his parents Benny was preceded in death by his brother, Donny Gates; and his son, Randy Gates.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his cherished wife, Bobbie Ann Gates; his daughter Hannah Marie (Scott) Davidson; brother, Larry (Barbara) Gates; his grandchildren, Brian Gates, Tiffany Gates, Mallori Gates, Ben Gates, Skyler Wayne, Savannah Davidson, Alexis Davidson, and Aurora Davidson; great grandchild, Bentley Gates; his nieces and nephews, Valerie (Chris) Nolan, Michael Gates, Tryston Nolan, Zoie Nolan, Carter Nolan, Riley Gates, and Logan Gates, along with a host of extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022, at Companion Funeral Home of Athens at 6:00pm with Reverend Jackie Hearon officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 4:00pm – 6:00pm prior to the service.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at McMinn Memory Gardens at 1:00pm.
