Barbara Ann Guffey

Barbara Ann Guffey, 74, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Friday evening, November 22, 2019 at her home. She was born in Cleveland, TN on September 20, 1945 a daughter of the late Robert & Pearline Scoggins. Barbara was of the Baptist faith and a member of Phillippi Baptist Church. She loved gardening and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Melvin Guffey and one brother Robert Scoggins.
Barbara leaves behind to cherish her memory one son and daughter in law Richard & Lora Guffey, two grandchildren Melinda Roberts and Anthony Guffey, three great grandchildren Lealon Guffey, Anthony Roberts and Devin Roberts, two sisters Eleanor “Sissy” Daily and Janie Tanksey, one brother Jerry Scoggins (Joy), numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, November 26, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Cleveland chapel of Companion Funeral Home. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Sammy Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in the Flint Springs Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Phillippi Baptist Church in Barbara’s memory.
