Arvel Agnew Defriese

June 21, 1935 — February 23, 2022

Arvel Agnew DeFriese, 86, of Cleveland, TN passed away on February 23, 2022. He was born on June 21, 1935 to the late Charles Everett DeFriese and Juanita Colbaugh DeFriese. He was a lifelong resident of this area and a Veteran of the United States Army where he served as MP in the DMC while stationed in Korea. Arvel loved to fish and hunt. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Calvin, Billie Joe, Don, Larry, and Jerry.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his son Stephen Scott DeFriese; grandchildren: Stephen Andrew DeFriese, Alicia Walker, and Alexandria Andrews; great grandchildren: Michael Andrew DeFriese, Gage Walker, Stormy Walker, Able Andrews; siblings: Tony DeFriese, Fred DeFriese, and Barbara Lines; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Arvel’s life will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday March 1st . His family will receive friends from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday. He will be laid to rest following his service at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors at 1:30pm at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
