Obituary

In loving memory of Arthur Louis Pratt age 68, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 6:00PM at Valley Road Baptist Church located at 860 County Road 187 Athens, TN 37303.

Mr. Arthur Louis Pratt was born in Binghamton, New York and was a resident of Riceville, TN. He was married to Mrs. Sylvia Pratt for fifty loving years. He took very good care of his family and always provided what they needed. Mr. Pratt was a very religious man and believed his path was by the word of the lord. His hobbies included bingo, which he played in New York at the Turnningstone, cards and he was an Ex. CBer for over fifty years. Mr. Pratt was also a unique man who never met a stranger. When you met him you also made a friend for a lifetime. Men are just not made like him anymore, says his family. And although his death was very sudden, he will be greatly missed and was loved by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife; Sylvia Crampton Pratt, two daughters; Tammy and Robert Martin and Terry Pratt, two brothers; Roy Backus, and Carl Spangenberg, two sisters; Debbie Carpenter, and Patricia Champine, seven grandchildren; Natasha Rock-Martin, Destiney Everhart, William Dickerson, Arthur Angell, Robert Martin, Courtney Pratt, and Shawna King and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Raymond P Backus Sr., and the former Susie Anderson, and onebrother; Ray Backus. Jr.
