Arthur Gene Tucker

September 9, 1930 — November 6, 2020

Arthur “Gene” Tucker passed away Friday, November 6, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones.
Gene was the only child of Arthur Tucker and Gail Ledford born on September 19, 1930 in Cleveland, TN. Gene was a graduate of the 1948 Class of Bradley Central High School and was voted Best Looking by his classmates. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korean War. Gene worked as a delivery driver with ET & WNC, but he was widely known for his extensive knowledge of the Bible. He taught Sunday School at many local Churches of God, attending South Cleveland Church of God and most recently Kinser Church of God. He will fondly be remembered by those lives he touched teaching the Word of God and his gift of beautiful prayers that he prayed to his Savior. We will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Faye Swafford Tucker and together they raised two children that have been left behind to cherish their memory; Kim Dillard (Rodney) and Anthony Tucker. His grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life; Tucker Dillard (Shanna), Kaitlin Burrell (Cody), Olivia Dillard (Briar Lee), Briley Tucker and Bella Tucker. His cousin Donald Ledford (Wilby) and special friend, Jewel Bryson as well as several special nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would also like to extend a very special thank you to Guinn and Anita Green, his pastor and friend, Adoration Hospice nurses, Angie and Stacy. Home Instead caregivers and special friends Kristan Burgess, Tammy Bigelow, and Bobbie Haines. Companion Funeral Home and the Cody family are honored to assist the Tucker Family with Gene’s arrangements.
Gene will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Friday, November 13, 2020 with Rev. Guinn Green officiating.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105
