Andrew E Leary Jr.

Andrew E. Leary, Jr., 66, of Powell, Tennessee passed away unexpectedly on March 30, 2023.

Andy “Drew” was born August 6, 1956, at the PNSY in Kittery Maine. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew E. Leary, Sr. and Doris Cushing.

He had lived in the Palm Bay area of Florida for several years before relocating to Knoxville and Powell, Tennessee and had just recently retired having worked as Chief Engineer of Marriott, Comfort Suites, and Holiday Inn for 23 years. As part of a Navy family, they settled in Kittery Point during his teenage years where he attended Traip Academy, Class of 1975.

He loved sports and was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox, NE Patriots and Boston Celtics. After moving to “Big Orange Country” Tennessee, he added the Tennessee Volunteers to his list of favorites. A lover of the outdoors, he had many interests including kayaking, camping and bird watching. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Andy always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. He was liked by all that knew him. He will be sorely missed.

He leaves his partner of over 18 years, Donna Hollingsworth of Powell, TN, daughter Sarah Leary, her partner Rich Prutzman and her children Tyler, Kaitlyn and Sophia of Knoxville, TN; a son, Sean Leary and his wife Shelby of Louisville, Kentucky. He also leaves his brother, David (Sally) Leary of Eliot, ME, sister, Susan (Gregg) Seward of Kittery, ME and John Leary, Seabrook NH, as well as his former wife and friend, Teresa Wantland and several nieces and nephews.
