Alphus Lee Ledford

Alphus Lee Ledford, 84, a resident of Cleveland, TN went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, May 1, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. He was a devoted member of North Cleveland Church of God and the Unity Sunday School group. He was also a member of the National NRA and the Cleveland Hunting Rifle and Pistol Club. Alphus, back in 1959, began as a truck driver with American Uniform Co. and then later went on to own his own Trucking Co who leased with FedEx Ground. He loved fixing things, collecting antique tractors, boating, motorcycles, and fishing with his grandson, but most of all he loved spending time with his family whom he cherished greatly.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 55 years, Veheda Ledford; parents, Carl and Della Ledford; brothers, Harlan and Dewey Ledford; sisters, Tommie Jean Nicholson, Winifred Ledford, and Wyona Mae Ledford.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Evelyn Ledford; daughter, Teresa (Jerry) Stephenson; step children, Cindy (Ken) Bolin and Edward (Rachel) Hicks; grandson, Brian (Ashlea) Woody; step-grandchildren, Fletcher, Winston, Harper, and Jones Hicks, and Eli and Ben Bolin; great grandchildren, Riley and Brody Woody; siblings, Cordelia (Wayne) Kersey and H.C. (Chris) Ledford. As well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 2-4pm with the celebration of life service at 4pm at North Cleveland Church of God: Dixon Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Mitch Maloney and Rev. Mark Williams will be officiating the service. Pall Bearers: Steve Ledford, Henley Ledford, Dewey Ledford, Brandon Ledford, Stephen Ledford, Justin Ledford, and Roger York.
In lieu of flowers the family asks the donations be made to North Cleveland Church of God: Children’s Rise and Build ministry in his memory.
