Alnita Nowell Williams

Al”Nita” Nowell Williams, age 83, of Savannah, Georgia passed away peacefully February 11, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness. Nita was born on December 19, 1937 in Lyons, Georgia, daughter of the late Oliver Nowell and the late Juanita Dasher Nowell. A sister, Beth N. Wilson also precedes her in death.
Nita leaves behind many to cherish her memory; her loving and devoted husband of 62 years James H. Williams also from Savannah, Georgia; her brother and his wife, Hugh and Carolyn Nowell; her sister and husband, Deanie and Bob Donahue; her daughter, Hope Becker; her two sons, Dave Williams, and Lindy Williams and his wife Cheryl Williams; along with 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- grandchild, along with many nieces and nephews.
Nita was a lifelong member of Bonaventure Church of Christ in Savannah, Georgia. She loved her family, her church, and our lord Jesus Christ. Nita had a servant’s heart, serving many others in many ways throughout her life. She “checked all the boxes” of the virtuous woman as portrayed in God’s word Proverbs 31:10-31.
A celebration of Nita’s life will be held at a later date at the Bonaventure Church of Christ in Savannah, Georgia.
