Abbie Jean Yeomans Higgins

Abbie Jean Yeomans Higgins was born into this world on November 7, 1940 in Valdosta, Ga to the late William Yeomans and Beulah Luke Yeomans, and she passed away this past Monday, September 9, 2019.
She enjoyed a modest but blessed childhood with her siblings the late Beverly Carter, Wilma Morrison, Kathleen Mize, Mark Yeomans and Keith Yeomans with surviving siblings: William Yeomans, Billy Yeomans and Tommy -Yeomans.
Abbie was granted the joy of a loving, vibrant marriage with Dudley Jackson Higgins, Jr. (Jack) for 2 months shy of 54 years. They were granted their four beautiful children and their spouses, all graduates of Lee University. Rebecca Higgins Cranfill and Tim with children Lauren Suits and husband Trevor and Sarah Cranfill. Cheryl Higgins McDonald and Todd with children Matthew, Andrew, Rachel and Elizabeth McDonald, Renee Higgins Talley and Jimmie with children Hannah and Noah Talley, and Jackie Higgins and Stephanie with Zhenya, Natasha, Katya, Anya, Kristina, Faith, Caleb, Josh, Sierra, Brianna and Martha Higgins.
Abbie graduated from Grady School of Nursing in Atlanta and served in the nursing profession as a caregiver for thousands for over 48 years.
Jack and Abbie poured their lives into ministry serving as bus ministers at South Cleveland Church of God for 20+years. They continued serving the Lord by leading the Foundation Ministry at Graysville Church of God.
The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday September 11, 2019 at the Lee University Chapel. A celebration of life service will take place at 7:00 with Dr. Mark Williams officiating. Interment will be held on Thursday September 12, 2019 at 10:00am at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Matthew McDonald, Andrew McDonald, Noah Talley, Caleb Higgins, Josh Higgins, Trevor Suits, Marty Carter, Todd Morrison, and Joe Thomason will serve as pallbearers.
