Oscar Jack Vaughn

Oscar Jack Vaughn, 79, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Saturday night, January 14th, 2017 in a local hospital. Jack was born in Cleveland on April 8th, 1937 a son of the late Roy & Jewel Vaughn. He was a member of Christian Outreach on Rabbit Valley Road. Jack first met the Lord and ask him to be his Lord and Savior at Mt. Olive Church of God during a revival. He and his wife attend Eagles Chapel for many years where she served as organist. Jack was retired from the Bendix Corporation after twenty seven plus years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved animals. Jack never met a stranger, he will forever be remembered for his outgoing personality .
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter Josie Vaughn, one son Jackie Vaughn, two sisters Gail Boling and Bo Bryson, five brothers Darrell, Jimmy, Tommy, Pete & Larry Vaughn.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of twenty seven plus years Carrie Dean Jones Vaughn, one daughter Brenda Campbell and her husband Jeff, three grandchildren Tina Russell, Scotty Lane and Brian Bryson, two great grandchildren Grace & Jake Russell, two brothers Danny Vaughn and Wayne Vaughn (Jean), one step daughter Bridget Green and her husband Terry, his best friend- Lester Sherrill, numerous other extended family members and host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Tuesday, January 17th, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN with Pastor Gary Sears and the Pastors of Christian Outreach Sieglinda & Lester Sherrill officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the 2:00 PM service time in the funeral home parlor.
