Nathan Renfro

March 9, 1972 — September 21, 2018

Nathan Renfro, 46, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2018. He was a prolific historian and loved to talk history with his family and friends and his students at Etowah City Schools, where he taught social studies to 7th and 8th graders. Nathan had a passion for music. He played bass in many bands in the Cleveland area over the years and made lifelong friends along the way. Nathan was raised in New Orleans, and often visited, but he lived and worked in East Tennessee for most of his adult life. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved watching games. He also loved Summer and warm weather and taking trips to the beach during breaks from school. Most of all, Nathan was proud of his daughter, Savannah Grace Renfro, and always believed she would accomplish great things. He will be sorely missed by many. Nathan was a Methodist, and is survived by his loving daughter, Savannah Renfro, and former wife, Misty Renfro, and was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Pope Renfro and his father, James Burl Renfro. He will be celebrated at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland Tuesday, September 25th with visitation from 5-7pm. The service will begin at 7pm. You are encouraged to share a memory of Nathan and/or your personal condolences with his family by visiting his memorial web page and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with these arrangements.
